This weekend I went to my second Lord of the Rings location. My officemate, Bhalchandra, a graduate student, Ramona, and I went to Edoras the capital of the horse riders' country Rohan. We are on top of the hill that figure prominently in the second movie. The camera started to oscillate in the wind and was falling over when the shot was taken. Edoras is really called Mt Sunday and it is a two hour drive from Christchurch. You have to ford a river to get to the mountain. It's like a pile of dirt compared to the other mountains in the area.
